SUMMARY:Remaining Upright
DESCRIPTION:Grey Highlands – A Year in Review\n\n\n\n\nIn the vein of CBC’s Still Standing, a fun evening of looking back on the past year in Grey Highlands with presentations from various odd balls and inflatables.\nThe night of tribute will take place at Annesley United Church on Saturday, February 17 with presentations by the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation, South Grey Chamber of Commerce and Hanley Institute, among others. “There are a lot of great things happening in this community,” barked Barnett. “It’s a municipality on the rise, so let’s celebrate that.” Highlights of the past year include the new hospital, Gran Fondo cycling fundraiser, RAM Rodeo, South Grey Home Show, Hanley Haunted Hike and many Annesley Events.\nAdmission is free. Goodies and refreshments will be provided by Susan Delicatessen. Doors will open at 6 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. All are welcome.\n\n\nTalise Mulholland\n\n\n\nGuests will be joined on stage by a brilliant local country-folk musician & songwriter for two numbers. Talise’s musical journey ignited at age five, crafting heartfelt tunes dedicated to her stuffed monkey. Growing up in Toronto, she performed at local events, busking on the city’s beaches, and won the Long & McQuade Song Studio Songwriting Award at twelve. At the age of seventeen, the musician embarked on travels, working on farms along the way, and discovered the enchanting world of Americana music. At 19, she embraced the banjo, adding a new dimension to her repertoire, showcasing her dedication by playing at unconventional venues. From solo performances to co-founding a successful female folk band called North Country Girls in 2023, Talise’s music reflects her diverse experiences, resonating authentically with audiences across North America. She is currently recording her first EP and playing live at every opportunity.\n\n\n
