Affordable Housing in Grey Highlands

Everyone knows someone who can’t find a place to live in Grey Highlands.  And there are many people who work right in Markdale, but are having trouble finding a place to live in the town they work and love. Now a solution is proposed by AHIGH Inc. (Affordable Housing in Grey Highlands), a community non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable rental housing. AHIGH has made a successful bid for the old Centre Grey Hospital in Markdale, a nearly two-acre site that is ideally located for our mission. Now the real work begins.

AHIGH is developing plans for mixed-income housing overtop much-needed new retail spaces right on Main Street. It’s an ambitious project, but ambition is what’s needed to tackle a crisis that has been decades in the making. It can’t succeed without backing from our community.
